The Arc of Davidson County
The Arc Davidson County & Greater Nashville is a family based organization that promotes, protects and advocates for the right of people with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities to live self-determined, meaningful lives in inclusive communities.
The Arc Davidson County & Greater Nashville envisions communities in which people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are accorded the respect, dignity, equality, safety and security to which all members of society are entitled, have the opportunity to actively participate in all aspects of society, and have access to the supports and resources they need in order to make and act on decisions about their own lives.
The Nashville Food Project
The Nashville Food Project was born from the idea that ALL people should have access to the food they want and need. We know that one in seven people in Nashville lacks access to enough food to sustain a healthy lifestyle. But we also know that more than 40% of all the food in our city goes to waste. Solutions to hunger take much more than simple handouts. Poverty, unemployment, low wages and escalating housing costs all contribute to the challenges that the most vulnerable residents of our city face.
